July 6, 2015

Dan McCloskey tops our mid-season update with seven points, although the nearest five entrants all have higher HBP counts. Dan built his lead on a combination of Miguel Cabrera’s .350 BA and Chris Sale’s share of the AL strikeouts title. Miggy won’t be competing for the HR or RBI categories from the disabled list, but his AL-leading batting average will remain frozen in time for a while.

King Felix’s days atop the AL wins column may be numbered. The Mariner ace has only won two games since the beginning of June, with stingy co-leader Dallas Keuchel making a start against the Indians tonight. If Hernández comes off the AL W books, Michael Orobona should become our new leader with Jim Kushner in close second.

Next Monday is our All-Star break update…

-Jud and Dan
